It really doesn’t deserve the hate it gets from some people IMO. And I say that as someone Love I Swing Both Ways Violently With A Lightsaber Shirt who has loved the first game since its release, avoided any and all spoilers and went in blind. It’s a really solid game in its own right. Personally I think it’s the best game Naughty Dog has ever made. You have to go into it with an open mind and heart, and trust the storytellers to take you where they want you to go. If you’re not the kind of person that can do that, don’t bother. It’s so thematically rich, ambitious, and genuinely devastating.
