My grandma used to do that. She had a HUGE corner lot with a ton of flowers and whatever. All the Happy Feelin Prickly Shirt neighborhood kids learned the hard way to NOT cut across her yard. Once she even hosed down a bunch of kids in January because they were sledding over where her magic lilies were. (In her defense, she asked nicely once, then warned them, then out came the hose.)I have two littles now and if they ever bothered somebody else’s property I’d die of mortification. It’s so rude!! one of the neighbor kids kept trying to come over, turn on our hose, and try to squirt my kids.

We asked him to stop, we asked the mom to stop him, tried to put away the hose, and none of it worked. My son Happy Feelin Prickly Shirt finally had enough, and the next time he did it my son grabbed the hose from him, shoved it in his face, then chased the neighbor kid back to his mom, spraying him the whole way. I didn’t say a word to my kid and the neighbor kid stopped after that. Laughing the mom of a friend (friend is 94 so this was long ago) told kids to quit messing up her fruit trees and stay off the property. They sassed her and refused. She went and got her pistol.
